Anker makes a lot of cool charging accessories. But I need to stop buying stuff I don't need. 😄

At $20 it's probably not worth it

Your laptop will still charge, but will just take way longer.
My MacBook Pro was at 8%, and after a night's rest of charging it was around 70%.

You absolutely can, you just need to plug a higher powered charger into this one.

The primary purpose of this device is a travel adapter, allowing you to plug your devices/chargers into different types of outlets.

The low watt USB charging ports are just an added feature. If you need more power, use it how its intended and plug a dedicated charger into it.

Something like this would be good for cruise cabins with very few outlets since it will convert an otherwise unused outlet in addition to providing those USB ports. I heard they're cracking down on outlet strips and limiting to just multi-port USB chargers.

Thank you for pointing this out. I plug a 160w charger into it, I don't really use the included USB ports.

I used a cheap $5 outlet adapter forever (probably went through 6+). The problem is they start to spark after a few months. You're paying for the build quality here and to "never" have to go out and find a travel adapter while traveling again.
The problem with the all-in-ones — the massive outlet adapters that have a power brick built in, is they're heavy and donmt pack great, vs. eg this guy and a seperate smaller power brick.
The 20w is nice since you can pull it out quick and charge your phone or gps at an airport or gas station, without having to pull out the power brick too.
I use the 65w Anker power brick with this guy, and it's the best setup I've found in 2026.

I got this recently. Works well. It passes through, so you can plug an adapter into it if you need a faster speed. But I mostly charge overnight when traveling. I like that it's lower profile than some of the bulkier travel adapters - a lot of the outlets abroad are loose, but this having a center of gravity closer to the wall helps keep it from falling out as much.
