Tempted. But curious what M6 series will bring when it's announced. LPDDR6?

Likely a higher price tag. Been reading about how this generation is the last one with "reasonable" (at least in Apple terms) pricing due to Apple's RAM supply running out. That's why certain SKU's have been eliminated and the Mac Studio M5 Max is delayed. They are trying to stretch their current supply.

This was the $1800 deal people were stoked about. Seems there are issues selling these things at this price, so not sure if I can swallow trading in my M1 Pro for this.

Yikes. I'm hoping the AI mania ends next year.

Quite a bit cheaper than Costco who has this one at $2000. Not sure what Micro Center's return policy is though. Costco has a 90 day return window, so if you already have a Costco membership and are on the fence, you can try it for a decent amount of time before really committing.

B&H-$1,599 coming soon in site but confirmed with sales rep that i could place order now and expect in stock delivery in coming weeks (Apple 14" MacBook Pro (M5, 96W USB-C Power Adapter, Space Black)
BH # APZ1KJ000RN | MFR #Z1KJ000RN) Placed the order with Payboo card so no tax charged $1,603.00 Total,
Your order will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Orders billed to digital wallets (Apple Pay or Google Pay) will be charged immediately upon checkout.

Key Features
  • Apple M5 10-Core Chip
  • 24GB Unified RAM | 1TB SSD
  • 14" 3024 x 1964 Liquid Retina XDR Screen
  • 10-Core GPU | Neural Accelerators
  • 16-Core Neural Engine
  • Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) | Bluetooth 5.3
  • Thunderbolt 4 | HDMI | MagSafe 3
  • SDXC Slot | 12MP Center Stage Camera
  • Magic Keyboard | Force Touch Trackpad
  • macOS | 96W Power Adapter

This is a tough call. The M5 Pro at MC is going to be $2000 for me after tax whereas the laptop here is $1600 no tax with Payboo. Is the jump from base M5 to M5 Pro worth the $400?
