1. This is morally bankrupt. If you used it for its intended purpose for its intended lifespan, you should be paying for it. You are right to be embarrassed. Abusers like you are basically how we lose this amazing free warranty system that's unique in the retail industry.
2. Because of point one, I almost don't want to share point two because it might be better for the world if people get trapped in that selfish plan. However, this violates Costco's return plan which specifies that tables only have a 90-day return policy. The customer service agents will absolutely turn you away.
For that reason your advice seems wild and VERY outta pocket. The 100% satisfaction guarantee is as solid as saying "the customer is already right": it's a lie. It just means that if there WAS a product or service that didn't have a set return window assigned to it the customer could seek a proper resolution. Again, you ain't getting one at your Costco done for this.
