This Mini 5 Pro deal centers on a brand new, sealed drone at a sharp AliExpress price, with several reports of units arriving legit and unopened around the low 600s. The appeal is the drone itself and the chance to get it locally shipped or with free returns within 90 days. The main cautions are AliExpress aftersales support, which can be slow or costly, and the bundle is basic with only one battery and a simple controller. US buyers also need to watch registration and import issues, since many units weigh over 249 grams and may not be treated as a true sub 250 gram mini.
Common Questions (5)
If the unit weighs 250g or more, it needs FAA registration for recreational flying and a TRUST certificate before legal flight. Many units reportedly weigh about 252g, so the under-249g advantage may not apply; registration costs $5 for 3 years.
The drone has been reported as brand new, sealed, and unopened from AliExpress, with purchases around $600-$602 before tax. It can be a legitimate unit, but it may be a non-US market version, which can affect DJI service and repairs in the US.
The listing says free returns within 90 days with a free label, and the item goes back to a local warehouse. In practice, after-sales support can be limited, so returns are easiest when the item is defective and less reliable if you simply change your mind.
There is concern that DJI products can be denied entry if intercepted under the Forced Labor Act, and some buyers also note these units are not US-market drones. That makes customs and service support a practical risk on top of the price.
Using a coupon can prevent cashback sites from triggering on AliExpress, and PayPal can sometimes code the purchase incorrectly so a card treats it like a cash advance. That can mean fees and interest, so the payment method matters.
