P.S. So in theory in a grid down situation / or completely in the wilderness you could still communicate with others using these devices (or I assume running similar protocols) using a cell phone, no external network required? Or even in a modern day scenario where you need to communicate but didn't want to use established networks? (extreme example, you were in Ukraine and didn't want to use cell / wifi networks that Russia could easily monitor).
