For those that care, this does not require their app to configure. However it also only has gigabit ports so it's fairly constrained for future use as both an ap or a router (the reason people go for 6E is largely for the multi gig ports which this device is lacking, so any wifi speed listed above this hardwired line speed is only valid when talking to other Wi-Fi devices on this device as opposed to connecting to the Internet or other devices elsewhere on your network at speeds greater than a gigabit)

Looks like it does have 1x 2.5gbps WAN or LAN port. Could be good enough for most people.
Great router for the time, but honestly people at this price tag and this point in time just get a Wifi 7 router..... No one should be spending $100 on wifi 6 gear right now, even if it is 6E. If this was a mesh system for $100 okay fine cause you get that expanded coverage.
For $130 and $160 you can get a triband router from Cudy or TP-Link which would be worth wild over this, unless you are on a budget than a dual band wifi 7 router can be had for about $80...

I thought so but those $130 or $160 don't have 6ghz like this one. Not all wifi7 support the new band. I could be wrong

Some cheaper around $100 wifi 7 routers are dual band (no 6ghz). But something like the Tp-Link BE550 often goes on sale for around $150 and is tri band.
The real deal was when costco was clearing out their store exclusive TP-Link Wifi 7 BE9500 router model (pretty much the same as the Tp-Link BE600) for $100 back in January.
Someone educate me on the US government banning chinese made routers such as TP Link
When that date arrives where 'non-us made routers' are banned from sale in the US, you won't be able to purchase any. Now, that remains to be seen on if this is actually true, or if the date changes, etx. We can keep our ISP router with no issues and will stay updated.
But, assuming this all happens, you can keep this advertised router as long as you like, but 'they say' you'll no longer get software updates and will become vulnerable as firmware ages and hackers do their thing.
K, so this is all kinda bleak and really strange and all sounds (as the kids say) sus. You could just build your own router using Opnsense. You need 2 network ports on your computer, about 8GB ram and minimal storage.
TL;DR - Early 2027 these units for sale (and all others) will continue working just fine, but will no longer receive fw updates and will become vulnerable. Then you can't buy anymore unless US made (Basically Starlinik)

Any previously FCC approved routers are explicitly approved for sale. It is just new models that have not been given approval yet that will be denied sale.

As of today, 0. The language is something to the effect of (air quoting here, not real quotes) 'Foreign made routers with chinese parts' are banned from sale. So, yea. What device anywhere doing anything isn't made with some Chinese part. Probably some, but its a huge net they're casting.
It seems some companies are 'paying to play' and have gotten extensions on the sale of devices past the current deadline (early 2027). So maybe if they pay enough they will skip the ban.
If anyone asked me, I wouldn't buy anything new right now. Maybe build your own or just hold on what you have. Or get the box from your ISP and hook up some AP's. (ISP devices are not banned so, who knows what the logic is here)
(nor are routers made by the same banned-from-sale-to-consumers that are being sold to businesses)
(if you care, its probably worth reading and following what limited info there is)

Source to say this is the v2 version? The reason I think this is v1 is the 7th picture on Amazon shows 4x 1 gig ports for lan and 1x 1 gig wan port and the tp website only shows that the v2 has the single 2.5gb ( https://www.tp-link.com/us/home-n...her-axe75/). when you select v1 and click buy now for the v1 (below the hot buy icon) it goes to this specific Amazon listing, the v2 does not have a buy now option which strongly suggest the reason this is so cheap is because it's the V1 version with only gb ports...

If it is other Archer branded TP-Link routers that supports Easy Mesh then yes.

What you are thinking of is dual band wifi 7 routers which still only operate on 2.4ghz and 5ghz cause as the name implies they are DUAL BAND.
