It's not garbage at all it's basically on par or better than an iPhone 13 Pro or iPhone 14 performance wise. You might be thinking of the old iPad 9th gen that still uses lightning with Touch ID. With today's economic system and it being an "apple" product, considering old used worn out iPad mini 6th gen are still asking for 300$.... this is a deal.
