Thanks! My Sony XM2 finally died today after many years, figured I'd give Bose a try.

Best noise-canceling headphones I've ever used. Practically every other noise canceling headphones or earphones I've ever used (AirPods Pro 2, 3, Max, Sony XM4, Sennheiser Momentum 4) make me feel this weird pressure in my ears when noise canceling is on or at max. These QC Ultra don't, I love it.

If I'm not mistaken the difference between ultra and normal QC is better build quality, capacitive touch controls, and "Spatial Audio." It's not a huge difference IMO

Still too expensive in my opinion. You can get sony xm4 or 5 refurb for $125-$150 when on sale

The ultras are heavier and depending in your view, capacitive buttons on Bose aren't as good as physical ones.

The ultras also sound a good bit better

Ridiculously good price. I have both these and the Gen 2. I don't feel the Gen 2 offers enough to pass this up. Get this, not that.
