This has been $50 regularly.

As far as gaming mice go, this one is pretty dated. You'll find better mice of this shape, for like $40 on Aliexpress. (Probably even $30 given the age of this mouse)

My friends use other brands and every brand seems to have some amount of double-click problems with MOUSE1 eventually, but I think it happens a lot faster on Logitech products. I was thinking of trying a Razer Viper or Death Adder, or maybe trying the new Logitech Superstrike since it uses a totally different switch type now, but I wouldn't even bet a single penny on their reliability since literally every mouse I've used from Logitech over the past 20 years has developed the double-click issue eventually. I've heard a few people say the Superstrike switches won't have that issues due to their design which makes sense, but I'm betting they will have some other stupid problem since Logitech engineers have proven themselves to be really bad for 2 decades straight so far.
Your mechanical understanding of these switches is flawed, not their engineering.

Buy an Omron switch off Amazon. It will cost between $2 and $5.

Take it apart and analyze it.

Now, ask yourself, how reliable are contraceptives?

For your sake, I hope 190%.

Most Logitech switches also get the double-click issue within a few months, and the scroll wheel stops working correctly over time. I've owned 2 of these, 3 Superlights, 3 903's, and 4 WAVE keyboard/mouse combos and ALL had Mouse1 double click issue and almost all had the scroll wheel issue too. Old ones tended to last a bit longer than newer ones before developing these problems.
Was this not fixed in the g pro? Or was it not until the 2 or the superlight? I have had a g pro superlight 2 for over 2 years now, no double clicking, after previously going through a 703 once a year before it developed it.

I've had a few of these and the scroll wheel is going out on both. I'm able to work around it by running it back and forth on carpet ferociously for 30 seconds but the issue comes back.

Just a warning for people who want this, the gold paint fades over time (took a couple years in my case). Would have been better if the mouse was just blue with no gold paint/font.
You are absolutely correct in that the gold will fade. IMHO it's a non-issue. Heavy usage for several years, faded paint is like well-worn pair of jeans that have earned their distress.
As for the deal....I bought two of these mice when they were $49.99 way back in 2022...back then I was going through a mouse every couple years or so.
The second is still in the box for when this one eventually starts getting issues with the click.

You can resolve the phantom clicks with X-Mouse Button Controller. It's free software that will inject delays to correct for debounce.

Also, Logitech uses the same Omron switches as everyone else.

They all suck. They all need to be replaced regularly.
They "all" don't suck. That's just a gross misunderstanding of gaming mice likely based on 5-year old information. Plenty of mice are out there with optical switches that cannot have this issue, and even Logitech's own Superstrike/GPX2 won't have this due to the haptic tech with no physical mechanical leaf spring. Even your solution kinda defeats the point of a gaming mouse because it adds extra latency to correct for a hardware fault. There are three solutions to this issue aside from just buying a GPX2 or SuperStrike:
1. Replace the PCB with a new one off AliExpress when the Omron 50/20Ms start failing, or if more tech-savvy, solder new ones on the board.
2. Buy a chinese clone with an identical shape and optical switches (like the Omron Opticals the GPX2 uses that don't have this issue) or even just plain more reliable mechanical switches like Huano BSPD such as the ATK A9.
3. Try a new mouse such as the Viper V3 Pro with a similar but more claw-focused shape built for larger hands that has optical switches. The deal isn't there anymore, but for a good while the SE was only $10 more than this and skips the divisive design, has a newer sensor, better scroll, better side buttons, better feet, weighs 25g less, and of course uses optical switches. I have a GPW and while it was great for its time (2018), it's outdated now and shouldn't be considered.

It was fixed with the GPX2 that uses Omron Optical switches. The issue now is that the side buttons and scroll wheel are still prone to failure. It's a shame since they have such a great shape but ruin it hardware-wise. I just claim warranty early in case I pass the expiry date and they don't want to fix it.

Yes but its stupid to think that mechanical switches are the only option on the market.

This is you.

Or are you one of those people that just disregards the actual solutions I provided in favor of winning an argument....

Edit: Seems like it, I almost forgot I provided an example of mechanical switch that is much less likely to fail and this dude skipped it. I just listed one example out of many available, especially in the Chinese market. This has to be ignorance.

You do not understand what a strawman is...just like your limited understanding of switches. Is this going to be another case where I have to explain that there are plenty of non Omron switches on the market that work fine and I get a troll who disregards that and skipped my first post where I explained this.

Spoken like someone who hangs out with nothing but strawmen.

If anyone is trolling, it's you.

You certainly didn't come to be helpful.

You missed my point entirely. If the line just faded away evenly and disappeared slowly no big deal. But it's discolored in some areas, and some areas are not faded. So it looks like crap, nothing like a good well-worn pair of jeans.
