I got the brushless non 40V version since I can use my existing batteries if needed and it came with a blower. But this is a good deal with two batteries. I haven't noticed any difference between battery powered vs gas in performance. I also have not had to cut grass in 20 years but now have a yard.

I am simply unconvinced that a battery electric mower can last as long as a properly maintained gas engine. Can anyone offer some experience on this? Has anyone gotten more than 5 years on one?

Why the downvotes on this one, it looks to be the best price this specific model gets. What am I missing?

And on the other hand, Im convinced an unmaintained gas mower can not last as long as an unmaintained battery mower.

I have ryobi 40v since 2016, still working today, but my yard is not that big.

oh, i never 'maintain' the thing.... cuz i don't know which part needs to be maintained..... just plug the battery and use it, shake it like crazy when it got jamed with tall wet grass and weed, left in the stroage box outside all year long in New York area.

Agree. You can't skip the oil and air filter. Changing the oil is a $3 expense annually. The filter... I would need to look it up, but you can usually just clean them instead of replacing. My Toro is 10 years old. I would just like someone to tell me these things last 10 years.

My neuton mower (24v battery electric) didn't last long at all. The relay fried.
