For DS and DOWN this is a great dual screen option with no peers at the price point. And if you are judging this (unfairly) as a device for 3DS...your expectations are the issue, not the handheld.

IMO though, I would have preferred this be smaller. I would have gladly taken 3.5" screens (or smaller) just so it was more pocketable overall.

The 3DS is a huge step up as a system but if you want a dual screen device to play 3DS you need to spend $300+ vs $85. The RG476H / RG406H do handle 3DS pretty well but are still 20-30% more and single screen. IMO these are all very different use cases.

Highly recommend. I wanted a duel screen device, but didn't want to deal with 15 year old used devices so this was perfect. Screens are especially nice compared to the og DS.

Before I consider buying one, I'm waiting for another sale some time in the summer especially around Prime Day since I can foresee sellers reducing the price of the RG DS Dual even further, and I already have plenty of these Chinese handhelds to keep me busy.

The lowest I've seen these for was $78, and that went OOS pretty quickly as I recall.

I definitely don't need any more handhelds but the RG DS is a keeper. It's usually the one I turn to for everything PS1 and below. I don't know how it performs stock, but I've had a great time with it using Rocknix.

By default, when you boot a DS game on a 3DS, the console stretches the image to fit the larger 3DS screen (which has a resolution of 400 x 240). Because this is not a perfect even multiple scaling, DS games will look slightly blurry and smeared by default.

I once had that turquoise original model 3ds. Picked it up on release day. Nintendo completely flubbed that release somehow. There was no fanfare at all. It was like nobody was aware Nintendo just released a new system.

I wish I still had that 3ds. IMO one of the best platforms ever. The hardware was beautiful.
