Dr. Bronner's peppermint bar soap is a natural, strongly scented bar that stands out for its peppermint smell and skin benefits. The bars are being found at a sharp clearance price around $9.97, with some stores still showing low stock or a few cases left, and the deal is especially notable versus the usual roughly $5 per bar. The peppermint can feel intense, causing burning or dryness on sensitive skin, though it may mellow with use and works well for shaving or even the face. It is a handy pickup if you like peppermint and do not mind a brisk tingle.

Common Questions (5)

  • The soap has a strong peppermint scent, but the tingle can range from mild to intense depending on your skin and use. It can sting sensitive areas or cuts, while some users find the bar version more muted than the bottled version.

  • The $9.97 price is a clearance price, and the item appears to be getting cleared out or phased out at some Costco locations. It may be hard to find in the app or online, so it's worth buying now if your store still has stock.

  • It can work well for acne-prone skin and some sensitive-skin users, with reports of fewer breakouts and a calming effect on inflammation. It can also dry and itch some bodies, so it may be better tolerated on the face than on the body.

  • It may not last as long as Irish Spring for some users, and the peppermint scent can fade over time if the bar sits in the shower. Others report the bars themselves last a long time, so longevity seems to depend on storage and use.

  • Yes, it can work as a shaving soap if you use a decent brush and plenty of water to rinse away the peppermint oil. It may be too intense as a bath soap for some people, but it can be practical for shaving.

Wouldn't it go bad since it's made from natural oils?
They will last a long time. Honey is natural and lasts forever. Scent will diminish with age im sure

this is clearance price, better stock up while you can. amazing price one should stock up on for life as you will never see it again!
I thought this means they want to unload the last batch. Interesting if they won't get it back. Full price was 20.00 and sales was 15.

I bought these at full price and the scent is amazing. If you like peppermint, it's wonderful.
It's known as a very pure soap from what I understand.

It's a natural soap with peppermint oil in it.
It makes your shower smell good. It also makes sensitive areas of your body tingle.
It doesn't seem to last as long as Irish spring. So to me Irish spring at Costco is a better slick deal even at full price.
Yeah, but Irish Spring is filled with nasty synthetic fragrances and chemicals.

The bar soap is significantly not as good as the liquid version. Costco needs to bring back the liquid Dr. Bronners

Does the bar soap smell like the liquid soap? My husband hates the liquid soap smell, not the peppermint part but the faint (castille?) other smell. Was hoping the bar would be better.

Honey is one of the rare foods that have antibacterial properties and can last almost indefinitely. This soap however, is made from natural oils which oxidize and can be harmful according to some sources
