So I've been on a hunt for the last few months for a high value, excellent sound quality set of hook-style, open earbuds and I've finally found them:

Based on the other SD threads I bought, tried, and returned the Shokz Openfit 2/2+/Pro, the Soundcore v40i/AeroFit 2, and the Cleer ARC 4+/5. These cheapo UGEE headphones beat all of the ones I've tried except for the Openfit Pro in terms of bass extension, bass output, and overall sound quality! Hoping to save you all the pain of trying out all of these yourselves.
Props to @daveB8075 who noted these are significantly cheaper on Amazon (which is why I'm creating a separate thread) than the SD thread created by a manufacturer employee directly linking to a manufacturer site for $18 to save everyone in our community a few more hard-earned bucks.

- IPX5 waterproof
- 8-10hrs battery life per charge, up to 30hrs total w/case
- Bluetooth 5.3
- 8.7g (0.31oz) per earbud
- Why it sounds freakin' amazing (from Gemini): Harman-Tuned Acoustics: The core acoustic profile was custom-tuned by Li Shengbo, a renowned audio expert formerly with Harman. He crafted a bespoke frequency curve specifically for open-air performance.
Hands-on experiences:
I received mine from Amazon today and should note that the really good sound quality (for me) outweigh the immediate downsides:
- No phone app and thus no customizable controls of EQ.
- All other open earbuds I've tried needed app EQ to try to fix the default tuning unsuccessfully in most cases (except for the Openfit Pro and Cleer since their default sound profiles were very good). The default sound profile for these are a very pleasant, moderate V curve (not flat, but not offensively V-shaped). These have good mid-bass, a touch of sub-bass, good mids, and nice/crisp highs.
- No physical buttons (sad), but the touch implementation is actually very good and intuitive (including long-press for volume up and down, missing in many earbuds).
- The feel of the case and design of the open earbuds is surprisingly premium and comparable to the Openfit Pro and Cleer ARC 5 (and better than the other makes/models I listed above). This is actually shocking.
- I haven't tried the mics on a call yet so I can't report on this yet.
- Just confirmed these do not support Bluetooth multi-point (so they can't connect to 2 devices simultaneously). At this price, I have 1 for my laptop and may buy another 1 for my phone (though one can manually disconnect from 1 device and connect to another also).
- Based on short-term experience (~4hrs so far), the earhooks are not as comfortable as the Openfit 2/2+, Soundcores, or Cleers but better than the Openfit Pro. After a 1/2 work day, I notice these on my ears but they don't hurt (like the Openfit Pro did), so I don't mind them. (I was wearing glasses throughout my use of these too.)
- This is the undisputed value (for bass/sound quality) of hook-style open earbuds, much like how the Baseus Bass BC1 is the value king of budget clip-style open earbuds.
