Pretty good deal it seems. FYSA this is standard install depth, not counter depth, so will stick out about 36". It also does not have smart features (a plus IMHO).

I'm on the hunt for a similar size in this price range, but closer to counter depth. Seems generally GE, Frigidaire, LG, and Whirlpool are the options around this range. From what I've gathered, some have had issues with LGs with linear compressors (a lot of the models with integrated door ice/water dispensers), but that's mostly from service technicians' perspectives. From the small bit of research I've done GE, LG, and Frigidaire are pretty reliable as a whole. Samsung and Whirlpool seemed to be more negatively reviewed around this price range WRT reliability.

What's bad about the newer LGs that no longer use the linear compressor and use the smart inverter? IE the LRFLC2706S?

I'm currently in the market for a fridge, oven & washer. I settled on an LG because the Kenmore I've had and abused for more than a decade is still working, but the last couple of floods (not the washer's fault but rather the minor operator) have caused a couple of issues that I just don't feel like fixing. I know for a fact it was made by LG and it's been so very good to me! I second the questions about the about the fridge inverter. So please, someone chime in?

Probably more depending on the model and technology. I have an LG fridge that seems very similar to this one for the last 6 years, not a single issue.

We bought one of the first redesign LG with newer compressor. Counter depth. No through door ice/water and ice maker in the freezer where it belongs. Been several years and so far, so good.
It makes weird noises. It makes ice very slow. Doesn't do fancy craft ice. But it holds temp and just seems to work.

Can't speak to all LG but if you keep it simple on the newer models they seem to be as reliable as any other brand. LG also makes one of the few larger size counter depth fridges at a reasonable cost.

Look up linear compressor failures. I bought a 10 year warranty. They've replaced 3 compressors on 7 years. LG does not make good refrigerators. Ranges, dishwashers are fine. Just don't buy their refrigerators.
