The Lenovo Idea Tab is a budget 11 inch Android tablet that stands out for its 2.5K screen, included pen, and solid media use. It handles streaming, web browsing, reading, YouTube, and light gaming well, with Balatro, Roblox, Minecraft, GTA San Andreas, and even some retro emulation getting positive real world use. The headphone jack, USB C fast charging, and 8GB RAM make it feel more capable than cheap entry tablets. The main drawback is the MediaTek 6300, which keeps it from feeling fast for heavier multitasking or demanding apps, and the 480 gram weight may matter if you want something very light. A practical pick for everyday entertainment and casual use.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes, the tablet includes a Lenovo Pen/Tab Pen Plus in the box, and buyers mention using it right away for notes and general use. The box contents listed in comments include the charging cable, 45W adapter, guides, and microSD tray pin, with the pen called out separately on Lenovo's product page.

  • It is fine for YouTube, streaming, browsing, email, and light gaming, but it is still a low-end MediaTek tablet and can feel sluggish with heavier web pages or too many apps open. For basic media use under $200 it should be adequate, but it is not a productivity or multitasking machine.

  • It can handle lighter games and emulation well, including Roblox, Fortnite, Minecraft, GTA: San Andreas, Balatro, and retro systems like Dreamcast, N64, PSX, and PSP. Heavier GameCube, PS2, or Switch emulation will be limited and may struggle.

  • At around $150, it is considered a strong value for an 8GB RAM tablet with a 2.5K screen, especially for media consumption and light use. The main tradeoff is that the CPU is still entry-level, so paying more gets noticeably better performance in the Pro model or other higher-end tablets.

  • The regular Idea Tab is listed at about 480g / 1.06 lb, which is comparable to other 10-11 inch tablets. That weight is still noticeable for handheld use, but it is not unusually heavy for this size class.

I have a metro line and I am thinking to get the moto pad 2026. Do you own one and is its CPU good for watching Youtube and reading PDF books? Thanks!
If you'll solely use it for you tube and pdf books the free samsung a9+ for $20 is enough…
Samsung>moto on software updates…
If you intend to do more than that, get the moto pad…
Samsung will be laggy due to 4GB ram even on web browsing multiple tabs… i myself had both and kept the motopad…

Seems like a good device. Would one be better off waiting for an iPad to drop to ~$200? I'm thinking that would be more reliable than this tablet.
Unless you can get a military discount, I think lowest you can expect for the iPad is $249. My mom got the A16 iPad last year for $279 (minus ~$150 for iPad 7 trade-in). This year though, $299 is the lowest I've seen it drop.

without a doubt... ipad's have much better hardware when talking about the CPU, better efficiency so it uses less electricity, generally an ipad will run better then a android tablet because the hardware and software work harmoniously.

I just purchased the Idea Tab Pro for $235.50 and it has a much better screen then a ipad, it is also a larger screen if you like that.

And as someone already mentiond... Maybe you will find it for 250 - 280ish if it goes on sale.

HUGE UPGRADE if you get the idea tab pro. And it is even a upgrade if you get the cheaper one. But I highly recommend spending the extra $83.00 and getting the pro $235.50... still super cheap.

The real difference is the CPU... one is the lowest end you should buy today and the other is actually a decent flag ship CPU.

I will also add the your tablet lasted so long due to it having a decent CPU. But it is time to retire it, the 4GB of RAM and that your OS has not been updated for so long. You do have a flag ship screen from the day, and it is OLED... this Lenovo screen is LCD. Your screen will have better black levels but the Lenovo is 144hz vs your 60hz, I would think that the new screen is an upgrade... it can also play dolby vision which your Samsung tablet can not do.

Legion Tab Gen 3 is $418

Idea Tab Pro is $237.50

Idea Tab is $152.00 .....TOO SLOW

You do know that the difference in screen size is 8.8" and 12.7". Besides that... yes the Legion Tab Gen 3 is faster but not by that much. If is hard to justify the increased price for just 256 GB UFS 4.0 vs 128GB UFS 3.1 unless you need the extra space. Plus it is about 25% faster but that does not do much in the real world.

I personally like small tablets and I even own a pair of joysticks that go on the sides of smaller tablets. Also, we have seen the Legion tablet for as low as $350 in the past.

I ended up purchasing the ZTE Redmagic Astra Gaming Tablet a few months ago and absolutely love it. Dispaly, speed, specs... all done right. They did two production runs and both of them got sold out pretty fast. The biggest difference is that mine has a OLED screen and the Legion Lenovo Tab Gen 3 is LCD, to me that is a big difference. And I paid $500 for my tablet on a pre release sale and it came with a 80watt charger. ZTE even did themed versions of the Astra Gaming tablet and sold them for $1340ish US dollars AND they are all sold out world wide such as the REDMAGIC Astra Golden Saga Limited Edition Bundle. This is a 9" tablet that is not even using the newest SnapDragon CPU.

Completely agree... but the Lenovo Idea Tab PRO (search yourself on Lenovo.com) is $237.50 and that is cheetah fast.
The Tab Pro CPU (mt8300) is about as fast as the Snap Dragon 8 Gen 2. The tablet also uses UFS 3.1 (the one not sold right now in North America that has 256GB of storage has UFS 4.0), that is a HUGE LEAP in speed compared to UFS 2.2 which in in the Idea Tab and Samsung tablet A11+.

I have never seen such a stong performance tablet sell for so little money before on Slickdeals.net.

I think the Lenovo Idea Tab PRO is one of the best tablet deals ever at this price!!! That is ever!!! So much so, I purchased one for my wife.

Yes and no...

NO...
The Lenovo IdeaPad Pro cannot be used as a monitor via a direct cable connection because its HDMI and USB-C ports are output-only.

Yes...
There is software support to make this act as a monitor. I suggest you google it or Gemini or Chatgpt.

Does ZTE still sell products in US?
