In terms of performance, this should be a step above the cheapo Walmart(Onn)/Amazon-branded tablets and a step below the base iPad or the Samsung S10 Lite series. My unc has one and it's fine for watching conspiracies videos on YouTube and browsing the web. Watching a picture-in-picture video while simultaneously rambling on the facebooks is also fine.
Closest competitor to this like another comment alluded to is the Samsung A11+. The A11+ has a better CPU and longer software support while the Lenovo has slightly more RAM and a better display. If someone has a budget of sub $200 and just wants to do media consumption than this Lenovo Idea Tab should be fine.
Community Reviews
The Lenovo Idea Tab is a budget 11 inch Android tablet that stands out for its 2.5K screen, included pen, and solid media use. It handles streaming, web browsing, reading, YouTube, and light gaming well, with Balatro, Roblox, Minecraft, GTA San Andreas, and even some retro emulation getting positive real world use. The headphone jack, USB C fast charging, and 8GB RAM make it feel more capable than cheap entry tablets. The main drawback is the MediaTek 6300, which keeps it from feeling fast for heavier multitasking or demanding apps, and the 480 gram weight may matter if you want something very light. A practical pick for everyday entertainment and casual use.

I have a metro line and I am thinking to get the moto pad 2026. Do you own one and is its CPU good for watching Youtube and reading PDF books? Thanks!
Samsung>moto on software updates…
If you intend to do more than that, get the moto pad…
Samsung will be laggy due to 4GB ram even on web browsing multiple tabs… i myself had both and kept the motopad…
I just purchased the Idea Tab Pro for $235.50 and it has a much better screen then a ipad, it is also a larger screen if you like that.
And as someone already mentiond... Maybe you will find it for 250 - 280ish if it goes on sale.
HUGE UPGRADE if you get the idea tab pro. And it is even a upgrade if you get the cheaper one. But I highly recommend spending the extra $83.00 and getting the pro $235.50... still super cheap.
The real difference is the CPU... one is the lowest end you should buy today and the other is actually a decent flag ship CPU.
I will also add the your tablet lasted so long due to it having a decent CPU. But it is time to retire it, the 4GB of RAM and that your OS has not been updated for so long. You do have a flag ship screen from the day, and it is OLED... this Lenovo screen is LCD. Your screen will have better black levels but the Lenovo is 144hz vs your 60hz, I would think that the new screen is an upgrade... it can also play dolby vision which your Samsung tablet can not do.

Idea Tab Pro is $237.50
Idea Tab is $152.00 .....TOO SLOW
You do know that the difference in screen size is 8.8" and 12.7". Besides that... yes the Legion Tab Gen 3 is faster but not by that much. If is hard to justify the increased price for just 256 GB UFS 4.0 vs 128GB UFS 3.1 unless you need the extra space. Plus it is about 25% faster but that does not do much in the real world.
I personally like small tablets and I even own a pair of joysticks that go on the sides of smaller tablets. Also, we have seen the Legion tablet for as low as $350 in the past.
I ended up purchasing the ZTE Redmagic Astra Gaming Tablet a few months ago and absolutely love it. Dispaly, speed, specs... all done right. They did two production runs and both of them got sold out pretty fast. The biggest difference is that mine has a OLED screen and the Legion Lenovo Tab Gen 3 is LCD, to me that is a big difference. And I paid $500 for my tablet on a pre release sale and it came with a 80watt charger. ZTE even did themed versions of the Astra Gaming tablet and sold them for $1340ish US dollars AND they are all sold out world wide such as the REDMAGIC Astra Golden Saga Limited Edition Bundle. This is a 9" tablet that is not even using the newest SnapDragon CPU.
The Tab Pro CPU (mt8300) is about as fast as the Snap Dragon 8 Gen 2. The tablet also uses UFS 3.1 (the one not sold right now in North America that has 256GB of storage has UFS 4.0), that is a HUGE LEAP in speed compared to UFS 2.2 which in in the Idea Tab and Samsung tablet A11+.
I have never seen such a stong performance tablet sell for so little money before on Slickdeals.net.
I think the Lenovo Idea Tab PRO is one of the best tablet deals ever at this price!!! That is ever!!! So much so, I purchased one for my wife.
NO...
The Lenovo IdeaPad Pro cannot be used as a monitor via a direct cable connection because its HDMI and USB-C ports are output-only.
Yes...
There is software support to make this act as a monitor. I suggest you google it or Gemini or Chatgpt.
Mine just arrived today, great deal for the price
