If it had OpenWRT support, a good buy. Otherwise avoid. Linksys/Belkin is trash without third party support. On occasion, their hardware can pack a good punch though, like the MX4300 with OpenWRT.

Which one is the current popular deal?

My Belkin dual band works fine - any benefit in upgrading?

I'm using the provided ATT Modem/Router combo. I'm not a networking guru, so I don't even know what OpenWRT means. For $20 will this improve the signal in my house to warrant the minimal spend? I don't need competitive gamer speeds, just reduce a little lag in the upper floor/corners of the house.

1g fiber connection.

I don't think this one has openwrt support and if no, not such deal even if at this price point given the back history of stock sw from them.

Given the comment section, wow, this brand has fallen real far from where its reputation used to be. Linksys used to be a top consume brand. Belkin, never that.

I second openwrt support being the difference between useless junk and actually pretty good stuff. Bought four refurb Linksys routers from woot last year, and the stock firmware was flat out unusable with frequent resets. Since loading openwrt onto them, tho, they've been rock solid. Kinda makes you wonder tho, they're really shortchanging themselves since the hardware is obviously good, but the firmware really drags the product down.

vipoutlet is a concern for me. Last time, it stayed in shipping status for 4 months before I finally lost patience and contacted Wally to cancel the order.
