Looks like it went back out of stock. It has been doing that all week, but comes back with a couple at a time.

Just went out of stock. If you're thinking about getting one, I'd keep an eye on it. It has been doing that all week with a few coming back in stock at a time.

Penn reel quality now-a-day is not same as your Grandpa's reel. Made in China. Not worth the premium the name used to command.

Updated link: https://www.amazon.com/PENN-Spinf...B0CDLWBPN4 for the VII New model and the Old model is there too, also on sale (but not live-liner). Penn has got to do something about the weight of their reels though. If you just want to chuck bait, fine. But if you want to cast all day there are better options by Daiwa, Shimano, Okuma and even KastKing and Piscifun (IMO).

2 back in stock btw

Edit: and they are gone. Keep checking it if you are serious about getting one. They have been only putting out a few at a time.

For the price they are a solid choice for inshore saltwater fishing and light offshore fishing. But again at its msrp range you have several other options from competitors. Penn reels are generally on the heavier side but extremely self serviceable and replacement parts are readily available. I have had extremely positive experience with their customer service which is based in Pennsylvania. Sale price isn't bad but last gen spinfisher combo went on sale for $100 and sold out fast. I would expect a similar deal with outgoing gen when Penn introduces next gen spinfisher if they haven't already done it. If you are a freshwater/finesse guy then this is not the reel for you.
