Ii have 2-3 of these type of sockets (given as gifts) and I rarely use them. I think they are gimmicky and if rarely can you center the faster or bolt in the exact middle so you are working with a lopsided socket while tightening or loosening. I suppose they may work on a damaged or rounded bolt but honestly have never tried it as I have specialty sockets for those.

They dont work!
Tried that one one rounded Hex bolt head and ended up having to drill.
