Control: Ultimate Edition on PS5 is a distinctive action game with strong crossover ties to Alan Wake and a reputation for getting wonderfully weird. The comments frame it as unique, fun, and worth the time, with the physical reprint restoring a hard to find edition that had been fetching far above MSRP on resale sites. The main caveat is price sensitivity, since the digital version and PSN sales are much cheaper. A solid pick if you want the physical disc and do not mind paying more for it.
Common Questions (4)
It is widely described as a unique, fun game with strong crossover ties to Alan Wake, and several comments call $30 a good price for it. If you do not care about physical media, the digital version can be much cheaper on sale.
It is a reprint of the PS5 physical edition. The original pressing had been out of print for years and was reselling for about $50-$100 on the secondhand market, so this MSRP listing brings it back at a normal price.
The PS5 Ultimate Edition had a very small print run and was out of print for years, so copies were only selling for what buyers would pay. That scarcity pushed eBay prices to around $80+ and made the MSRP re-release notable.
The physical disc is expected to fall after launch, with one comment predicting it could become a sub-$10 copy after a few months. The digital version is already regularly discounted to about $6 on PSN.

Well maybe Best Buy shouldn't have changed their online store to a trash 3rd party marketplace that allows for scalpers to buy up all the products with bots, only to resell at a criminal pricepoint. Same goes for Target and Walmart.
Even without it being OOP, it had a very small print run for the PS5 mainly since the game was already out for the PS4 for 2 years before the PS5 ultimate edition came out. At that point, sales were already very low.
Wasn't until the Game Awards, in December, that new players started wanting it again after they showed Control Resonant.
Let's remember that this is a 7 year old game (5 if you only count the PS5 ultimate edition). It being sold for a higher than MSRP was only due to it being limited and hard to find in stores. That can't be helped. Glad it's being re-released for it's MSRP though.
