Probably the worst way to watch fully animated or heavy cgi films. The bitrate is so low that there is so much compression and artifacting going on, it just isn't worth it.

Agree. Not sure why they are so expensive compared to 4K.

The 3D release is split over two disks (you have to switch disks mid-play) - apparently, it was done this way to keep the bitrate high. Not that really justifies the price jump.

It's the economics of scale. There aren't many of us buying 3D anymore, so the sunk costs of mastering the 3D for blu-ray are spread across a much smaller quantity of disc sales. I don't like spending $42 on a single movie, but I'm glad they are offering the 3D at all. For Avatar Way of Water, the home 3D looked better than the theatrical, with more depth and no weird framerate switching. Hoping for the same with Fire and Ash.

(And, yes, I saw it in laser IMAX. The projection wasn't the issue. It just looked kind of shallow in the theater compared to the blu-ray. Also, while I actually love HFR for 3D, I hate the switching back and forth. I get that some close-up scenes can look unnatural in HFR. You know what else looks unnatural? Suddenly dropping to a lower framerate that looks almost interlaced in comparison.)

you have a right to not like a movie.but to say it's not any good is false. No reviewer or person said this is a bad Film.I personally thought it was pretty good.

not for me, for someone else who likes it. Just waiting for the price to drop. I thought the first one was boring and a slog to get through. And this is coming from someone who likes Cameron's other movies. From True Lies, Aliens, T2, Titanic.
