Well the PC component can do all they want but if I can't get reasonable priced RAM or storage, too bad, I ain't building a PC with $800 just for RAM and a 2tb NVME.
I'm going to horde my pennies and continue to "suffer" on my old PC. Memory prices are making new PC ownership unaffordable. I refused to spend near or over $2k for a mid-range system in whole or in parts. eff AI. I've watched Terminator and know what Skynet/AI does.

yep, I was contemplating a PC upgrade around October and was pissed the RAM prices had jumped. Fully expecting them to go back or at least down some, after little to no movement by December I just pulled the trigger, and I guess I'm glad I did. Here is it almost June and still not really any cheaper.
Prebuilt with CB stacking and sales is the only way to get even close to a reasonable price since late October. I got my PC for $1200 after CB and sale/coupons (Skytech allowed stacking) with a 9800X3D, 5070, 1TB NVME, but only 32GB RAM and I definitely miss having 64GB, but it is hard to pay 1/4 the cost of my entire system for another 32GB RAM. but I am tempted.
It was actually cheaper like 199 before..and none of its components are in shortage.
Show me where I can get an A tier 850 watt sff power supply and a 240 Aio for under $200. And then show me a $30 case for it. Oh and a riser cable. It was a good deal to me because I'd priced the components earlier that day.
Supply has to catch up with demand eventually, right?
people always forget the demand is coming all from the AI sector and people not buying in the consumer sector isn't going to do a dent in it. Of course once supply goes up and ai demand goes down it will be a different story. i haven't even been around that long and i remember supply bumps (albeit more minor) happening like this
