I've bought a couple of these on sales. They work, are solid enough, and miles ahead of crappy plastic ones.

I bought a 1-cup and a 2-cup version of these a couple of weeks ago. I found my 1-cup glass chipped and cracked after about 1 week. I then tried to "exchange" it but WalMart does not allow you to exchange and keep the price (The price had gone up by the time this happened and I drove back) so there's that.
The bigger issue I have with the Anchor Hocking is the pour spout design. If your common workflow has a lot of slow pouring of measured liquids out of the measuring cup these will run down the side of the cup if you do this too slow. I've tried using this for pouring water & yeast when mixing bread dough and that didn't go well. My pyrex (little p) works much better for that.

Anchor Hocking's 2 cup glass measuring cup comes across as a sturdy, inexpensive kitchen basic that feels far better than flimsy plastic. The thick glass, durable markings, and solid build make it useful for everyday measuring, garage tasks, and replacing plastic cups. The main knocks are the pour spout, which can run down the side on slow pours, and reports that the printed markings can fade or the glass can chip. It is a practical workhorse if you want a cheap glass cup and can live with the spout design.

Common Questions (4)

Yes. It's described as solid, surprisingly sturdy for the price, and a big upgrade over plastic measuring cups. Several comments also call it a kitchen workhorse and a great value.

It pours fine for normal use, but the spout can run down the side if you pour slowly. The larger lip and spout design are also called out as making precise pouring harder than on Pyrex.

The $3.97 price appears to depend on a mail-in rebate, so the out-of-pocket cost may be higher if you do not submit it. If you can complete the rebate or avoid extra delivery charges, it is still a low price for a glass measuring cup.

The markings are reported to hold up well on some cups and never fade, but another report says the printing disappears after a while. That makes the durability of the printed measurements a possible weak point.

The measuring cup I use for everything. Even for measuring the perfect amount of dry egg noodles. Love it.

Big step down from the Pyrex versions, but fine - also inexpensive. Use both this one and the OXO versions

Absolutely. I have the four cup and its pour spout is garbage.

Inexpensive and great for garage, pouring is not an issue. Yes, I use kitchen items in the garage lol.

What exactly is worse than a Pyrex measuring glass? What would I be doing where the Pyrex version is better?
I've used mine hundreds of times for boiling water, measuring ingredients.

The Anchor Hocking is more difficult for me to read. But functionally, both are just mass-produced cups made from cheap, tempered soda-lime glass. Maybe one day I'll find a borosilicate version at a thrift store

I feel like I'm going crazy with this "deal" (regular price) getting reposted every few weeks over and over again.
