They get kickbacks/perks/freebies or gift cards. My wife did this stuff for years, but on her personal blog, always disclosed that there was quid-pro-quo, and never under the guise of it being a "hot deal" that was just happened upon.

Which is why I TD these shitty, shilly deals every time.
