"You cannot draw 500W through a cigarette lighter socket. The socket will overheat or blow its fuse well before you hit 500W. It's physically limited to ~150–180W regardless of what the inverter is rated for."
And it looks like it is maybe 18-20 AWG wire, so I don't think I could cut it and just use a different connector without worrying about a small wire trying to handle 500W
