Summer is here now - The snowbirds are all gone, and most people aren't vacationing in Tucson in the summer when it is 100+ degrees.

Maybe that's why they might want to park at the airport, get away from the heat for a week. Don't need airport parking if you're vacationing in Tucson.

Parking at TUS is crazy cheap. Last time I flew I paid $2.75 per day for off-airport under cover. In Tucson, off-airport parking is less than a mile from the terminal. That is closer to the terminal than the long-term lot at most big airports.

honestly, i've posted tucson airfare deals but i swear, tucsonians do not travel. the ones that do will drive over to phoenix for flights.

You come back to your car after 7 days, and it is a melted blob. I was there for a year, the hottest place I have ever lived. Cooler than Phoenix or Yuma but still very warm. Mt. Lemmon in the summer is a refreshing change from the heat. Enjoy all.

Tucson resident here. I only fly out of TUS is my work is paying the tab. With a family of four, it's always cheaper to fly out of PHX, even if we have to stay the night beforehand. I wonder if this is to gain awareness of the discount lot. I didn't even know they had one until this last trip.

flights out of tucson is always insane but once in a while, there's a rare one that is even cheaper than out of PHX. i'm glad you travel lol. bear down!
