This style bike stand can actually be great after modification. The 4 rivets that secure the bases will twist and break in short order. I replaced them with stainless nuts and bolts, but also had to grind the underside of the fasteners down to just a few mm to get them below the depth of the base end caps to prevent them from dragging on the floor. Been using them like this for years without issue.

This will NOT fit most mountain bikes. It clearly says tires up to 1.97".

Maybe a young child's MTB, but not adult bikes.
