The ZBook Power G8 is a heavy, rugged mobile workstation that stands out most for its 64GB of RAM, capable i7 11850H, and useful port selection, including Thunderbolt 4 and support for multiple external displays. The workstation T1200 graphics and Windows 11 Pro add to its appeal for demanding office work, emulators, and RAM hungry workflows. The main drawbacks are the scratch and dent condition, a small 256GB SSD, loud fans, heat, and battery life that may only last a few hours. It is best suited to buyers who value memory and workstation hardware over portability or modern efficiency.
The laptop can support multiple external 2K displays using Thunderbolt or HDMI connections.
The Thunderbolt 4 port adds practical docking flexibility for work setups and peripherals.
The ZBook Power G8 offers strong workstation-class performance with an i7-11850H and a dGPU.
The configuration includes business-focused extras like Windows 11 Pro, a backlit keyboard, and good speaker output.
The scratch-and-dent condition and questionable battery state can make the refurb less attractive.
The battery life can be only a few hours when the laptop is not plugged in.
The laptop runs hot and uses aggressive fans, which can be noticeable during use.
The fans can be loud at idle, which may be inconvenient for quiet environments.

It;s a weird middle ground. If you've been looking for mini pc's I'd probably get this instead because the ram cost alone, but you also get a screen and battery to go along with it, and even some dedicated graphics, even though it's a workcenter gpu. The thunderbolt 4 is also a really nice option to have.
In short, you mean, to say removing the RAM, leaving an 8-core powerful processor, a dGPU (despite being old), sturdy build quality, good port selection, win 11 Pro, backlit keyboard, good speaker, is worth $150? Anyone with laptop and parts knowledge would agree how non-sensical that sounds.

I'm not trying to crap on your post or anything, but since most people would consider this machine mostly for the RAM, this calculation is worth pointing out.

The real value here would be flipping the ram if you have sodimms lying around, or swapping the 64gb into a more powerful micro pc like the Dell 7010 or tiny lenovos, if you had or got one with 16gb (easiest to find/cheapest spec). The popular 13500t+ models are high core beasts, and take ddr4 sodimms.
Random scenario I know, but I'm in the market for the latter and any easy way to get 64gb of sodimms (plus a decent laptop!) Is worth considering. And I also have tons of 8x2 sodimm sets lying around
Thoughts?
