Now THIS is a good deal for these speakers!
EDIT: oh these are customer returns. Not a bad price, but up to you whether or not you care. Some people have suggested ProAudioStar marks stuff as customer returns so they can go sell new products under MAP. I have doubts about that, but still a decent price.

I had the Adam A7X, and opted to downsize some gear and got the 308p after owning the 305p. These are not as good as the high-ish end Adam monitors, but the difference is subtle and unless you have acoustic treatment spending any more than these is a waste of money. If I felt the need to upgrade, I'd get the Neumann KH 120 II, but I don't feel the need to upgrade. These are good enough for any home studio.

I've owned the 306P MKII in white for about 5 years now; I love them. They get loud (~110db SPL), have decent thump, but I use a sealed 8" sub with them and an HPF at 80hz. They started off as speakers for my basement DJ setup, but quickly moved to my PC with a balanced DAC and really shine when fed a clean high-res source. I paid 349 for the pair, so seeing them around 2021 prices is making me consider another set. Good find OP

I purchased customer returns (different JBL Bluetooth monitors) from Pro Audio in 2022, and they arrived brand new in box

If you're using these for production monitors, the bass buildup from the rear ports is pretty bad, so you're better off plugging them with foam. You'll need to compensate with EQ, and it will limit your max volume, but for music production, that shouldn't be a dealbreaker.

The transients are a bit soft and the resolution is on the lower side, so they aren't the giant-killers ASR makes them out to be. That said, if you just need them to double-check your overall mix balance, they're perfectly fine monitors.

These have gone to sub-$100 (about $89 IIRC) each new even somewhat recently (late 2025).

Good monitors, but unless you're in a rush, I'd hold.

I don't see where it was that low in recent years, but sounds like it was a Black Friday deal, definitely if you can wait til then waiting makes sense

Room treatment & ears getting used to is most of what matters but JBL is a solid line.

Two things to know before buying, especially if considering plopping these on a desk:
  1. Sounds dumb, but measure your space. These are huge for desk usage.
  2. These have a baseline noise floor that produces constant low volume hiss, regardless of isolation/wiring interference. Some people wont notice, but if you're sensitive to noise you should consider something else. Google "jbl hiss" or 305p hiss for discussion.
