I own these, they run very sweaty but I wouldn't say they run hot.
These don't have a fabric liner on the bottom and the foam/coating they use doesn't breathe at all.
I've only worn mine 2 times. When you wear them with socks they're nearly impossible to put on since the foam material sticks/grips socks so you can't slide your feet in.
When you wear them barefoot, there's nothing to help the bottom of your feet "breathe".
Basically the worst of both worlds. I wouldn't recommend wearing them without socks since they do get steamy. Definitely not a slip-on slip-off shoe.

Do you think maybe because you ordered too small? I don't mind the breathability as long as it functions as a legit slip on. But if it can't even do that.. Lol why bother.

No I ordered my correct size and I have some wiggle room when I'm wearing them.
You can legit/easy slip them on barefoot and deal with the sweat.
As a person that has dealt with Atheletes foot in the past, I'm not going to keep putting my feet into shoes that I haven't worn socks in. All that sweat will continue to build up and generate bacteria/fungus = Atheletes foot.
I clean my regular sandals/slides every few weeks or so. I also leave them out in the sun for the heat + UV rays to kill of any bacteria.
If that doesn't matter to you or effect you, then go for it.
I bought these as a joke on clearance and wear them to work every day now with socks. They seem like they will be hot but when you're walking you can feel the air go through the speed holes. My job is super cold so ymmv lol . Might be good at the beach idk

Nike makes millions of horrid shoes.
Shoes don't sell.
Pump them through the shadow channels.
