It's a great deal, but MSI basically makes the worst quality gaming laptops on the market and have for a decade or more now. It's super weird because their business and creator stuff is great, but their gaming laptops are just awful.

I have a MSI gaming laptop and it has been doing just fine for maybe 5 years.

That was my experience with the one gaming laptop I owned from them.

I have two MSIs, one has an 1660 super and the other a 4070 and both have worked for years without a problem.

That's great that they held up well for you. The main issue is their build quality is just mediocre. Like they use incredibly cheap plastic even in their top end models and it means it has lots of flex in the lid, keyboard and body. Go to a microcenter and pickup laptops one handed, the MSI top end will creak and bow more than a low end Legion LOQ or HP Victus gaming laptop.

I bought a 17 inch MSI GS75 Stealth with a RTX 2080 back during the start of COVID. The hinges were plastic and eventually cracked. If you google "MSI GS75 hinge issue" you will see this was a problem affecting many people.

Other than the build quality, I enjoyed the laptop. The hinge issue led to me having to replace the cracked screen 3 times.

I've owned a few, I agree the build quality isn't great (cheap plastics) but they are typically the best bang for the buck.
