The PNY RTX 5070 Ti is a strong 4K and high refresh rate gaming card that also handles demanding work like Rhino, AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D rendering well. Performance is repeatedly described as close to an RTX 4080, with solid benchmark results and smooth long term use. The main catch is pricing and stock, since the $699 clearance has been highly store specific and often requires in store lookup, ordering, or a price adjustment. Some locations rang up $799, $899, or even $999, so the deal depends heavily on the store.

In a local store. They don't have the card in stock BUT the staff was able to find it online and order one for me for $699. Not sure if it's YMMV (I guess not) but definitely worth trying.

Spoke to a local store in bay area, the price is still $999.99 and it's unavailable.

You're not ignoring the use of a $100 gift card or something, are you? You'd have gotten it well below MSRP (and even at the $749 MSRP was a rare deal for most of the life of this product) if it was $599 and this exact model.
Nope, really! It was just sitting there. $599.99. I was in Walmart for something else and I usually drop by the electronics section when I am getting ready to build.

It was just sitting in the case with a marked down sticker on it. $599.99.

I don't know what I can tell everyone. I rarely get lucky on any kind of deal but I guess this time I hit a minor jackpot.

I am sure it was just an in store deal. A serious YMMV.

One store only Walmart clearance on graphics cards is a pretty known thing on the gpu/deal subs I follow, so totally makes sense. I think leaving out that info is what caused the confusion.

There isn't going to be a price decrease of the 5080.
It just means they are going to streamline the product line.
Because they streamline the product line of the 5080, thus the 5070 ti gets put on clearance?

Or is it bc if they streamline the 5080, the 5070 ti gets discontinued and hence the clearance?

My store had the 5070 ti @ $899.99 Frown

But they had the 5060 ti @ $419.99. Picked that one up for a friend as he's slowly getting the parts to upgrade. Was also able to get him the MC 9850X3D bundle that had the glitched pricing from a month ago or so.

Because of the memory shortage they are going to reallocate the memory into products that make them more money.

How are they going to do this without gimping the 5080?

The memory in the 5070 Ti sits at a lower stock clock speed.

If anything, they'd have to use it to double their 5060 Ti 8GB production for more sub-$1000 prebuilts.

They will stop building and use the memory on a lower priced card on a more profitable model.

Nvidia raised the price on the 5090 by $300 and in S. Korea many models are over $5k.

The 5070ti memory speed is clocked down to make the gap between the models look greater, not for technical reasons. Read the threads on reddit about using MSI afterburner to change the memory clock using a slider. People have done extensive tests to show that it's stable and cool (and not falling back on error correction) at up to + 1000mhz or more (3ghz) before ecc kicks in. My experience matches this

No comment on unsubstantiated claims about nvidia canceling cards or diverting resources to higher profit cards. My guess is the usual best buy random price things we have seen in the past. I would not assume there is any logic tthere. My local store had no stock and was $899. Other stores showed stock as soon as this was posted and were presumably 699 in store. Probably just some weird sales algorithm. I already own this card or else I would have driven to every store until I found one.

Not saying this isn't true, but I'm not finding anything that substantiates this across the board.

Plenty of third party manufacturers release OC editions of most cards, which is just a product of good binning.

If this were a luck of the draw situation, then to achieve what the previous comment was suggesting would mean having to apply factory overclocks to the 5080.

If I bought a $1000 card late in production and it had no headroom compared to what it had on release, I'd assume it was defective.
