Dawn Platinum Plus Lemon Scent Dish Spray is a strong grease cleaner that also works well on classroom desks and has been called the best dish detergent for individual dishes. The deal price is attractive, though the final cost has landed around $3 after Subscribe and Save for some orders. The main drawback is the lemon scent, which comes across as very strong and even off to some noses. A dependable cleaner if the fragrance is not a dealbreaker.
Shoppers who want a dish spray for everyday dishwashing, because soap and water alone still cleaned dishes well without the alcohol step.
Households cleaning greasy cookware, because the original formula is described as breaking down heavy grease better than homemade soap-and-water mixes.
The lemon scent is reported as very strong, and some find it off or unpleasant. If you want a milder option, Green Apple or the Pine seasonal scent is suggested instead.
Yes, it works well on classroom desks and is also described as a strong grease-fighter for heavily dirty dishes. For lighter cleaning, a homemade soap-and-water mix may be enough, while the original formula is preferred for tougher grease.
The price can land around $3 after Amazon Subscribe & Save, and it has been as low as $1.49 at times in March and April. The posted deal price is $2.40 with coupon and S&S, but the final total can vary by account and coupon eligibility.
What are you talking about? The original dawn powerwash formula has rubbing alcohol in it. 3oz dawn dish soap2oz rubbing alcoholfill the rest up with water, 11oz.
You actually dont need the rubbing alcohol according to laundry Melissa. The diy method is not 100% mimicking powerwash ability to cling and break down grease and whatever else. Nor is that 2oz of rubbing alcohol providing real levels of sanitation for you dish. With all that said 2-3oz of soap n water definitely works just washing dishes. Which is what I do. I have removed the alcohol myself and havnt noticed a different. Look up laundry Melissa if you want to hear her full take on it.

Enlighten me what the rubbing alcohol is doing to mimic powerwash and not just be "soapy water" id also like to know ur source for this. I've tried it without the alcohol and didnt notice the difference. dawn itself even mixed with a bit of water to become "soapy water" was still effect at cleaning my dishes. according to the lady I mentioned who went over it twice over the years, the diy formula with rubbing alcohol does not help achieve the cling and break down effect that the mfg receipt does. so what is it doing.
