I got a rotary tool and an angle grinder. Would I need something like this? Can somebody help me with use cases?

I loved this tool with a 2" 120grit flap wheel or the various cleaning pads and rolocs at the 2" diameter. the newer one is more powerful but i used the heck out of my gen1 for years doing light cleaning/touch up/finishing. friends who used them all complained it was underpowered. suited my use/one of my favorite tools.

This tool is ideal for cleaning metal up, like removing rust and paint. This particular die grinder is the V1 which is known to be very low torque, so is better suited for light duty work. V2 has a new motor with way more power. Here's some die grinder bits that you'd want to use with this tool: https://www.harborfreight.com/pow...-bits.html

So tempting at this price. I have a gen 1, but want a second one so I don't have to change out from cutting disc to sander, etc. But I think I am going to hold out for the second gen.

Heavy duty cutting jobs similar to what you'd use an angle grinder, but you need smaller cutting tips or finer control. A standard rotary spins faster but much less power, it's a nightmare to cut steel with. Angle grinder would make quick work of it, but is hard to control accurately and make finer detail cuts. Die grinder is the perfect in-between option
