The big issue with this rice cooker is that the inner lid and steam cap are not removable for cleaning. This may be a deal-breaker for some.
Right now, however, the market for rice cookers not made in China is pretty inflated. If buying new, this is probably the best bang for buck model available.

Zojurushi died from user error and tried this out, the water level indicators are grey and impossible to see without shining a light on it and didn't cook the rice nearly as good as my old zojurushi. Returned it for another zojurushi

I've had this for almost a year now and it makes great rice if you use a 2:1 ratio of water:rice. Their recommendation for ratios didn't produce the best results.

each batch or type of rice may need different ratio, I usually have to learn my rice at 1st when I buy a new bag.

Do the old Asian finger measuring. Add just enough water so that if you touch your middle finger to the surface of the rice, the water level is at the crease of your first knuckle.

Does it have to be the middle finger?

This rice cooker is poorly designed. There is no steam/condensation basket. The lid does not have mechanism to be removed and cleaned. Buy another model and consider 2 functions above.

We are returning ours that we got from Costco. Never had an issue with cooking rice, but the steam function only works when it wants to.

If I wanted to do that I would have kept my old $5 thrifted rice cooker lol

solid rice cooker. i've had this for like 4-5 years and it's fine. the only thing is that the non stick inner pot liner can get scratched if you aren't careful or if you burn the rice. i ended up replacing the inner pot with a stainless steel one. it's great for a family, or for food prep if you're single

I've had this for a few years now. It does well enough but the lid and steam vent seals aren't removable, which gets kinda gross. And, for the love of Mike, the clock is NEVER right.

Sometimes I wish I'd bought a Zojirushi.

My wife picked one up for $60 last year. We use it quite a bit when we're in a hurry. Super easy to use. The inner pot is removable and easy to wash. Made in Japan too.
