At the very start of the video, you can see the size of the box.
One of those and a 12v Lithium Marine Battery ($100-200) and you're getting around the lake/marina without paddling for under $1k. 46lb trolling motor would definitely be enough for a full boat, 55lb if you want to fight some wind/current with more confidence.
Or you slap on the cheapest 2-stroke outboard you can find and you're pulling a tube at a pace that will excite grandma.
Community Reviews
The Aqua Marina AIRCAT 335 is a sturdier 11 foot inflatable catamaran that stands out for its drop stitch bottom, reinforced PVC tubes, and real transom motor mount. It is described as far more capable than basic inflatable boats, with enough structure for a genuine gas outboard and even tube pulling, while still packing down to about 41 by 19 by 11 inches and a 52 pound hull. The main cautions are registration and licensing rules that can kick in once a motor is added, plus the usual concerns about fitting motor and fuel weight on an 11 foot inflatable. It looks like a strong compact boat if the local paperwork works out.
Common Questions (5)
Often yes once a motor is added, because many states treat a motorized inflatable as a vessel and use 9.9-10 HP as the cutoff for registration or licensing rules. Florida, California, Washington, and Idaho were all cited as having different requirements, so the exact answer depends on where you launch and store it.
It has a legitimate marine transom mount rated for 10 hp or more, so it can take a genuine gas outboard rather than just a small trolling motor. The boat was also described as sturdy enough to pull a tube, though the 11-foot size still limits how much weight and room you have.
The main hull is about 52 lb, and the packed pre-inflation size was given as 41 x 19 x 11 inches. That makes it manageable as oversized luggage or for storage, but it is still a bulky package.
Yes, it was described as a major step up from Intex-style inflatables: it has a drop-stitch bottom, sturdier PVC outer tubes, extra rubber coating, and a proper transom motor mount. The practical difference is a firmer, more boat-like platform that can support stronger motors and more serious use.
Yes, a sub-$1,000 setup was outlined by pairing the boat with a sale Newport trolling motor and a $100-$200 12V lithium marine battery. A 46 lb motor was suggested as enough for a full boat, with 55 lb giving more confidence in wind or current.

Is this Costco offering substantially different, better?

This has a "drop stitch" bottom, which is firm and more like a paddle board. The outer tubes are a much sturdier, more leathery PVC than the Intex stuff (closer to a Zodiac boat), and it has extra rubber coating on the front and bottom. It also comes with a legitimate marine transom motor mount rated for 10hp (or more). Even though Intex has their own proprietary little motor mount for some of their inflatables, it's really limited to little trolling motors and is in an awkward position. The boat in this deal is sturdy enough to rip around the water with a genuine gas outboard motor, and could even be rigged to pull a tube around at a fun clip.
It's a lot different. Not to knock the Intex boats (some great value on sale), but they are glorified pool toys compared to something like this.
