This MacBook Air deal stands out as a strong value for the 13.6 inch M5 model with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD, especially versus the 256GB version at the same price. The larger storage is paired with the M5 chip, and the upgrade path is described as giving the same 10 core CPU and GPU setup. Costco also adds a 90 day return window and a free second year warranty, with price adjustment support and some card or membership rewards available. The main drawback is that the base warranty is shorter than AppleCare, and higher storage or memory configurations climb quickly in price.

My Costco has older M4 version for $900… it's 15", 16gb/256gb SSD… would that be better buy even though it's older version cuz u'll be getting 15" screen vs 13" of the newer model at the same price?

No because that only comes with 256GB storage. The performance gains of the M5 and minor improvements overall plus the 512GB storage makes this a better buy imo for the same price. This model will also have a better trade in value if you choose to upgrade down the road. If you really need the screen real estate, I would get the 15 inch of this model for $200 more.

Looking at previous years lowest prices, this is the bottom.
Definitely not the bottom. I have a few M4s with this spec and I paid as low as $750. Do better.

worth upgrading from M4 24GB/512 GB?

Already have MacBook Air M3 16gb 256gb. Ok with performance and using it for Logic Pro but storage is too low. Any performance benefit upgrading to this M5 base besides the storage?

plus also crazy to assume everyone wants as 15" screen and don't care for portability
