*edit: ordered a black pair - can't lose. Local store for return if needed.
Just received mine. The bottom layer is a thin layer of gum (tan) color. They are an upgrade for sure from my last pair of these. They both are called original grand, but this one has a Much more comfy sole and more modern take.
No concern about quality for the price. I wouldn't have paid 140 or even the 99 clearance for them, but $45 - Yuuuuup.
