I've got this saw few weeks ago so I can share some impressions. However, this is my first table saw so take it with a grain of salt.
It is nice and light, pretty compact which I was looking for. It took some time to set it up. The instructions are not great, youtube helped a lot. I used it with the stock blade and it cuts 2x4s well. I tried to cut a few hardwood pieces and had no problems doing that. I have ordered a replacement blade since I know that the stock one is not good. If anyone else is on a budget, look at dewalt 40 teeth blade, it only costs $20 and gets decent reviews.
There are a few things I didn't like. The table is very slightly warped with a dip around the blade. It makes it harder to set the blade angle right. There is no riving knife, only a blade guard. I know that it theory you can use the guard for through cuts and you need nothing for grooves/dados. But I'd rather have a riving knife on all the time. But again I'm a beginner and don't know many things.

this is a good price. ALSO, these saws are quite dangerous, please use caution if not experienced user (and even if you are)

Bought this last august at $179.
Great little saw.

If you are planning on taking with you from place to place
and If you need a stand.
Go with the bench and Stand combo

I have the 10", it is the best saw I've ever used. I actually use a 7 1/4 100t blade for super clean cuts. The rack and pinion rip fence system is a god-send I can't imagine going back I really wish there where deck extensions available.

I don't disagree, but for the pirce of the 2 you could just pick up the 10" with the built in stand.

Great mention about the riving knife, gave a helpful! I had previously said, if this were available earlier, would have gotten this to save money and weight. But with that mention, now I thoroughly like mine with the built in stand. The key with these Skil table saws is, the rack and pinion fence. I needed to shave off 1/16". Try doing that with a clamp on fence, utter frustration. A breeze with a rack and pinion fence. Another highlight for this smaller unit I'd imagine would be is the lower cost of replacement blades, since it is a bit smaller. Finally, where can you get a table saw with rack and pinion fence at this price point.

This saw is loud compared to Bosch & Dewalt, so put in ear plugs while using. You need a riviing blade to keep the cut wood from clamping in back to prevent kick back & burning your wood. Also, you might trip your breaker every time you power up, whereas Bosch has soft start slow ramp up power.
