Because this is not a WaterSense model. Has to be 1.28 GPF to meet CA requirements.
I have two of these in 1.28 GPF option and they work well.

I would suggest being present on day of delivery and meeting them at the truck before they unload. Purchased the regular height or $274 last week and the box looked damaged and there was definitely rattled pieces in the box. I refused the delivery and told the drivers you can carry it to my door, but tomorrow you'd carry it back. I told him it was a toilet and he said, oh yeah, it's definitely broken.

Costco deal is better if you're not immediately upgrading to a bidet seat. Costco model comes with a seat, stainless supply line, wax ring and mounting bolts.

Absolutely do not recommend order this from Amazon. The shipping will 100% break it. I had to return two times and ended up buying it from Home Depot locally.

I have three toilets all different sizes. Two elongated. One elongated with bidet and one round with bidet.

Smaller people like the round toilet. The elongated toilets are more popular with larger people.

Had 3 of them for 10 years...... not very good. The water filler cap had rubber seal in it, average last around 2 years before it leaks and need replacement, it's not expensive cuz it's basically "Korky Toilet Repair R528P2", but annnoying cuz you need to listen for the leak and replace it. Also the flush lever plastic housing keeps breaking around 3-5 years, need replace the whole flush lever cost around 25 or 30 per piece...... because nobody sell that tiny plastic housing by itself. P.S. 3 toliets in my house, 3 people living the house, you can est the usage.

I bought 3 from HD 10 years ago, 2 of them broken to pieces..... they have to reorder, so I got my 3 out of total 5 shipped to HD.

Sometimes round is the only option. We need to still use a round toilet in our smaller master bathroom because an oval toilet would interfere with the adjacent shower door. I'd rather have an oval there but I just take my dumps in the downstairs bathroom with the oval toilet.
