I really think they gotta make these things open to a 16 by 9 or 16 by 10 big screen, that way you get the big video watching without the extra weight in your pocket. 16 by 10 could be great with a quick Auto zoom feature, so when the video is full screen you're only missing a little bit on each side, but appearing even bigger
I'll probably end up getting one of these when that's the deal and it's affordable

As someone who bought it, I would generally tell others to get a pixel 9 fold or 10 fold.

This OG pixel fold doesn't support display/video out, making it less useful.

I bought AR Glasses like RayNeo & was disappointed that the pixel fold doesn't support video out, so I bought the pixel 10 fold

Just note that it's also heavier than the pixel 10 fold, despite being smaller. Its actually so noticable that I had to double check with ChatGPT.

I had the Samsung Fold 4 for 2 years, and 6 for 2+ years (I got them both on release day, so whatever that math is, just guessing)
Never had an issue with either, no crease, no hinge problems.
But my problem is, I got them both for ~$300-400, and now the deals of stacking trade-ins and coupons have been MIA
Will definitely buy the Fold 8, if I can find a decent deal.
I had a 2 and a 4 for two years each. Never had screen problems but both developed hinge issues less than six months in. Didn't make them less functional but they definitely feel less premium when they only open 170 degrees. I've heard the 6 and 7 have made large improvements on the hinge.

How good is the Tensor chip
It's pretty good if you're not into gaming. I've had my Pixel 8 since October 2023 and it flies. Of course, I don't do anything heavy so there's that.

End of life is 2 years like a previous poster mentioned. What isn't mentioned in this thread is the phone is locked to AT&T. Users have already reported this problem. https://forums.woot.com/t/new-goo.../2410312/8
Don't buy this thinking you can install grapheneOS to bypass the 2year end of life. AT&T phones have the bootloader locked. (I could be wrong about the bootloader being locked).
Someone commented here that they are on Verizon with no issues. So this is conflicting information if it is locked like you say.

Thanks OP I got mine new for $550 a while back. It's definitely not flagship level for 2026 in some aspects but I've been using it as my daily driver. No major complaints, great entry point into the foldable category without shelling out $2k.

My favorite part is the shorter, wider aspect ratio which makes watching videos and using the inner screen in general much more useful in my opinion. Samsung and Apple are using a wider aspect ratio in their upcoming foldables and I hope that continues. The wider ones are much superior to the taller ones imo.

One note, end of life for updates is June 1 2028, so you're getting 2 years out of this at most.
>My favorite part is the shorter, wider aspect ratio
Yeah, Apple is doing this for their foldable, and Samsung is essentially copying Apple. Good stuff. The thin tall 'tv remote' style Samsung has been doing for several generations, and Google switched to with every pixel fold after the first is stupid.
