Curving bullets and face punch training is worth a laugh.

Mythbusters tried it. Needless to say it didn't work.

I recent rewatched it and thought the opposite. There's only 1 reason to watch. Or two if you count each cheek.

It was fun... as long as you can ignore the complete lack of real science in their explaining of curving bullets. Would have been better if they just said it was magic, IMO.

What the loom of destiny wasn't enough to ruin this?

I mean I didn't really think it was being pushed as science based, but it's been a while.

Hehe, I kinda liked that part. Almost a bit of pseudo science / religion. Telling people the bullets can curve significantly if you whip your arm around?? Just stupid. I'm not even bothered by the ridiculous aiming of the curving bullets. That can be accepted as some kind of mutant skill or super intelligence.

I mean it was originally a comic / graphic novel after all. I'm not looking for hard science either (ref loom of destiny above), but that's a much different thing from accepting their claims of things that are patently false. The fact that the bullets can curve like that at all without some external force is simply wrong. A curveball in baseball requires the added spin to be in opposition to the trajectory to effect the motion. Any real added spinning added to the bullet other than along the center of it's line of trajectory that might explain the curving, would also cause the bullet to tumble, move erratically, and slow significantly.

the comic was better, but luckily i watched the movie first, so I really enjoyed it!

Took me a while to learn the lesson, but ALWAYS watch the movie first, bc the (comic) book is probably better.

Matt Damon in an interview said something like DVD sales allowed the studios to take more risks back in the day. The advent of streaming took away that revenue stream, and the results is we get constant remakes. This is one of those movies I think the risk was taken, in hopes the physical media sales would make up any box office short falls.
