500 for a stick vac is insane, and this is coming from someone who had a family member that sold Electrolux/Aerus that could go up to $3500 (also insane).

These do not suck as well as plug in vacuums! More for small apartments as battery life is barely 10 minutes on max

Best vacuum I've ever had. Variable speed so battery lasts longer and light showing you missed dirt is very helpful as well.

Seen them around this price before but not regular price.

i just bought a new house with carpet and i'm obsessive about keeping it as clean as possible. I'm willing to splurge on something like this, but should I consider a good steam cleaner instead? or are the two for different purposes?

I was all about it until I noticed there was no fluffy optic head, so I'll pass. For five hundred bones they need to include that also and they will when they run it on Black Friday or as a QVC TSV.
