Braun Series 9 Sport is a premium electric shaver that stands out for a close, fast shave and travel friendly use, especially with the clean and charge station and case. The Costco exclusive version is described as a Series 9 Pro plus body with the regular Series 9 motor, and the station has fewer programs than the Pro version, but those differences are framed as minor for the value. The $149.99 price looks strong against buying the blade and charging station separately, though shipping can add $10 online. Main cautions are neck and mustache performance, repeated passes for some faces, and expensive replacement heads.
Common Questions (5)
It is described as better than a 3-rotary for some, but others say a mid-tier rotary or Panasonic Arc5 can shave closer or faster. The Arc5 is also noted as more powerful but much louder, while the Braun is quieter in a different frequency.
At $149.99 it is considered a solid price, especially because Amazon pricing for the shaver and charging station is around $140 already. Costco also sells a version with a hard charging case, and the deal has been seen as better when bought in-warehouse to avoid the $10 shipping fee.
It can struggle on the neck and mustache for some users, requiring repeated passes and still missing spots. Others say it cuts well overall, but the neck area is a common weak point.
It can shave a head, but it works best when hair growth is short, around 3-4 days after a fresh shave. For longer growth it can struggle, though it still gets the job done, and several users use it mainly for face or travel.
The Sport is a Costco-exclusive version with the body of the Series 9 Pro+ and the motor of the regular Series 9. Its cleaning station has one program instead of three on the Pro station, and the replacement heads are reportedly about twice the price of some other Braun parts.

- I've had the 3 rotary as well, I like the Series 9 better.
- I've had the Panasonic Arc5 as well and really liked it but it was way to loud. The Braun, some might say it's loud but its a different frequency and doesn't seem to be loud by your ears every morning.

I guess you've tried the Norelco-style multi-head shavers designed for scalp.
I would say it's on par with my old Pit Bull shaver before that one died on me.
I shave every other day and it does a good job. I got some replacement cleaning solution off of Amazon and it has been great.
Somehow I still miss entire patches on the back of my head though. That's user error, but if you are like me, get ready to walk around with landing strips on your head lol.
