Braun Series 9 Sport is a premium electric shaver that stands out for a close, fast shave and travel friendly use, especially with the clean and charge station and case. The Costco exclusive version is described as a Series 9 Pro plus body with the regular Series 9 motor, and the station has fewer programs than the Pro version, but those differences are framed as minor for the value. The $149.99 price looks strong against buying the blade and charging station separately, though shipping can add $10 online. Main cautions are neck and mustache performance, repeated passes for some faces, and expensive replacement heads.

Good deal, but I think it's probably better to wait for a local warehouse to have it on sale to avoid a $10 shipping fee.

Interesting, I'm currently using a mid-tier rotary shaver, and was hoping something more premium like this would cut better. I'll save myself the money, thank you!
I like this Braun Series 9, it almost vibrates on your face, it cuts really well.
- I've had the 3 rotary as well, I like the Series 9 better.
- I've had the Panasonic Arc5 as well and really liked it but it was way to loud. The Braun, some might say it's loud but its a different frequency and doesn't seem to be loud by your ears every morning.

How does this compare to Panasonic ARC5? More specifically, does it shave as well and do the replacement blades cost a fortune as well?

After years of shaving with a Norelco, I decided to buy the Braun Series 9 on a previous Costco sale, thinking that the more premium price would get me a more premium shave. I have regretted it ever since. It is a less comfortable shave, and I find myself having to repeatedly go over the same areas to get the job done. Honestly, I can't think of a single thing that the Braun does better, except that at least they have the decency to provide a charger with their razors, while Norelco has gone the cell phone route, and discontinued chargers.

Is this a good razor for shaving a scalp? Would love to get away from a blade setup.
I bought this before I decided to go shaved head, use it for my face mostly. It can do your head, although in my opinion it has a narrow window of growth that it can do it well. For me, 3, maybe 4 days past a fresh shave is it. Any further beyond that and it struggles, although it can still get the job done. I use it when travelling and just do my best to not get behind. If you want to get away from blades then from what I understand, other options are more specialized and better.

I guess you've tried the Norelco-style multi-head shavers designed for scalp.

Been using this one or whatever they were selling a little over a year ago exclusively for shaving my head.

I would say it's on par with my old Pit Bull shaver before that one died on me.

I shave every other day and it does a good job. I got some replacement cleaning solution off of Amazon and it has been great.

Somehow I still miss entire patches on the back of my head though. That's user error, but if you are like me, get ready to walk around with landing strips on your head lol.

I'm convinced that razors are very subjective to the type of skin and thickness of hair. I've gone through so many damn electric razors before I landed on the series 9. I think I've finally stopped cycling through electric razors for now. Hopefully the replacement blades work just as well

I have the Panasonic ARC5 and it hands down the best electric I have owned and I have had Braun and Norelco in the past that can not compare. The ARC5 is faster and closer than anything I have used.

It probably depends on the person. For decades I used a wet/dry shaver and cleaned up with a razor. For 2 years now I've been using just the Braun with a quick dry shave. It took a little bit to get used to it and dial it in but it's working good for me.

idk who needs to see this, but the blade and charging station each adding up for this shaver on Amazon is $140 already... for me it makes this deal a no-brainer if you are in the market for a good electric shaver.
