Tool only. Add another $289 if you don't already have a battery and charger.

The articulating arm is nice for placing closer to your shop wall, whereas the Dewalt miter has double barrel cylinders in the back, which makes for harder shop placement, since the cylinders in the back impede movement. Still went with the 12" Double Bevel Dewalt from Lowes though, since they had a battery & rapid charger promo under $500 out the door.

Great saw and highly recommend. I bought it slightly cheaper on Black Friday last year to replace my Metabo HPT 12" corded saw, but truly $500 and under this is a solid buy.

The double laser line is fantastic - rather than try to line up your one line, have to account for being slightly on either side of it, your blade lands in the middle of the two lines every time.

Super clean cuts, the surgeon arm thing is better than the double rail ones as mentioned for placing against a wall or something in the shop.

Bosch saws are fantastic and this one I would buy again!

$500 for a miter saw seems ridiculous, especially because it doesn't come with a battery or charger

Been waiting for this deal, got the rail version that is also on sale for $50 less. I got the rail version for that price, but it included a 8ah battery and charger. The rail version works well, but the Surgeon is the one I always wanted since trying a coworker's. Not the best deal, but nowadays, deals are not what they use to be.

If it's in your shop, just get a plug in saw for more power and convenience

Waiting for plug in version to go back on sale which doesn't have the guide lines. Is there a version of this (axial glide system) that can be plugged in and has guide lines?

For a 12 inch saw, this is a tidier package to carry compared to a slider.

Okay sure at almost 10lbs more than Dewalt. I bought the corded version to replace my Hitachi CF10 and said hell no to carrying that beast almost daily it lives in the garage shop now. Also the blade changes are more complicated on the Bosch

there's an adapter you can buy for 23 bucks to clip an olight Oclip to the guard and it gives a perfect shadow line. It's not as jank as it sounds.

I believe that the Bosch travels better with the arm lock. There seems to be less stuff stick out and hanging down. When you take out the batteries, I believe that the cordless weighs less than the corded DeWalt, also.

But much respect to ya, if you have to move any 12 inch miter saw everyday.
