While there are reasons NOT to like the monitor, the pixel density is exactly what Mac users want/need. I believe this is the same as the 32" Studio Display. It's 5K @ 27" and 6K at 32" to get native scaling on a Mac.

I would definitely read a few reviews on this monitor before purchasing it. Based on the specs alone, I would love to buy it, but I will not touch this thing.

Can someone explain why Samsung would put a 60Hz screen w/ such high specs on other categories? I am curious if there is a marketing strategy for this?

this level of pixel density is not useful for anyone other than like image editors or some niche profession.

also, this comes with a massive external power brick. It is huge and unwieldy to store.

What other 6K monitor at 120Hz+ refresh rate did you have in mind to compare to? I'm not sure it's marketing strategy as much as availability of such a panel.

Not to mention to drive 6K @ 120Hz requires a substantial video card / display tech.

I'd have to imagine that the target market for a $1300+ 6K monitor is the same group of people who would have a substantial video card to drive it...

maybe i'm just ignorant but what is the use case of this level of pixel density if optimal resolution of a 32 inch monitor at typical office desk viewing distance is 4K?

This is not meant to be a gaming monitor. It's specifically for creative professionals - graphic designers, photographers, editors, artists, etc. Refresh rate above 60hz not especially meaningful for these users. Look at the product page and it's obvious what this is meant for https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg...ne-monitor

This is a highly color accurate monitor intended for image professionals like graphic designers and photographers. The higher pixel density more accurately displays typography and vector elements.
