Decent deal? Great deal? In between?
In between. Good price considering the batteries, but kind of an odd product, IMO.
I'd go with the brushless compact impact wrench for 3/8 size. You're much more likely to be in tighter quarters, and I'm pretty sure this is basically the old 1/2" impact fit for 3/8" sockets.
The 1/2" fastener sizes are usually used in places where you have more room to work. Larger impacts aren't so much of an handicap.
As a primary/first impact wrench, 1/2" is better, overall. You're usually doing lugnuts and the big, strong fasteners that don't get much work.
So ideally, you already have a 1/2" impact and you can justify a more specialist 3/8" because you have demonstrated the need for a smaller impact.
This is the [older] brushed model. If you need a basic impact wrench for stuff might be a good deal if you're also in need of some batteries. But as trza said, the compact brushless one would definitely be a better choice.

Might be an older model. I bought the new stubby model for 99 but only 1 battery.
