I bought the OXO 8 cup based on America's Test Kitchen's rankings at the time. The Zojirushi was the runner up and I wish I'd bought it instead. The OXO beat it out because it has an insulated carafe (no warmer), but that carafe is a pain to clean. The way the top of the OXO carafe is shaped, you cannot pour all the liquid out of it. The Wave 185 filters for the OXO are also expensive. The main thing with both is that they get to a more proper brewing temperature than most cheap coffee makers.
Makes good coffee but replacement carafes are $45!
How often are you buying replacement carafes? My current daily driver was bought during the pandemic. Only had the carafe break once because of wife negligence.$200 maker, Easily 1200+ pots of coffee + one replacement carafe ($50).< $0.21 per pot.
i bought this for my parents since they don't drink very much coffee these days but this is a good, no friills simple coffee maker that's consistent which is all you need! if i was single, i'd use this one (have the oxo 9 cup). I used to be like others who ruled out glass carafe's but after years of use.. now will be using only glass
