This wasn't on my purchase list but read this review on Reddit and it sold me:
"Smelled it today first time. I have owned a few Aventus clones and eventually purchased the real thing, so I have a good idea of how to describe this.
Before I purchased Aventus I bought clones from Armaf, Zara, Mont Blanc, Rayane, Dua, and whatever Supremacy Silver is. They all have their benefits and have their own take on the Aventus vibe, but none of them really scratch that itch. Sold them all. So what is it? What gives Aventus its unique vibe that appeals to so many people that no company can seem to replicate just right?
I read a really interesting article on Fragrantica a while back that said that Aventus had a unique proprietary musk created specially for it. The musk is what gives Aventus its signature: a salty, watery, animalic smell reminiscent of your own sweat. Once I read that I noticed that this is truly what sets Aventus apart from the others. Not the pineapple, not the smoky birch; it's this recognizable musky scent that I swear I've smelled before but can't recall where. Unique yet instantly recognizable; truly the marker of mass appeal.
So now to Versace Eros Energy.... it is the only Aventus clone I've ever smelled that has that same exact musky signature. The citrus up top is lemon-dominated, but a very good lemon similar to Chanel Allure Edition Blanche. It ain't pineapple, but the black currant in combination has a similar effect. There is zero smoky birch, in fact it's hard to pickup any distinct woods. Is it cedar or sandalwood? Nah it's just wood and it's playing a supporting role in the back somewhere. But that unique musky scent appears early and stays for the whole ride. It's bang on and it kinda blows me away.
This is probably what Aventus cologne should have been. It's stronger and longer-lasting than Aventus cologne, and it does a better job creating a fresher, more zingy Aventus. I sprayed it on my wrist 6 hours ago, took a shower and I can still pick it up 3 feet away from my nose.
I have no need for this, as I have the real deal and I'm happy with it, but this is a great fragrance. If you don't own Aventus, I'd say this is a no-brainer."
Versace Eros Energy comes across as a lemon forward citrus fragrance with an Aventus like musky backbone, and it stands out as a fresher, more zingy take on that style. The scent is described as lasting well, with strong projection and a dry down that settles after about 40 minutes. Packaging, bottle, and sprayer quality also get praise. The main drawback is the lemon cleaner comparison, with some finding it too sweet or too much like Pledge. It seems best for citrus fans who want a bright, modern twist.
Fans of bright citrus scents who want a lemon-forward fragrance, because the opening stays citrusy and the lemon note carries through the wear.
Aventus fans looking for a fresher alternative, because it captures the musky signature while staying stronger and longer-lasting than Aventus cologne.
Several comments call it a great deal and worth the price, especially for a 3.4-oz bottle at $59.99. One practical caveat is that Costco is viewed as the safer buy versus Amazon at the same price because of counterfeit risk.
It has an Aventus-like vibe for some wearers, with a musky signature and a fresher, zingier profile. The opening is lemon-forward rather than pineapple-heavy, and it reportedly has little to no smoky birch, so it reads as a different take rather than a straight copy.
Some people describe it as lemon Pledge or lemon cleaner, while others say it is simply a lemon-scented citrus fragrance. If you dislike bright lemon notes, it may come across as too sharp or too sweet; if you like citrus, it can be a strong fit.
It is safer to test first if you are sensitive to citrus or sweet fragrances, because the scent can read very differently to different people. Several comments say it is worth trying in person at the mall before committing, especially if you already own other Versace or Aventus-style fragrances.
One detailed wear test reported it still projecting about 3 feet away after 6 hours, even after a shower. Another comment said it settles after about 40 minutes, suggesting the opening changes fairly quickly before the drydown takes over.
6.7oz for $80 from Woot. I went to the mall to give it a test smell for this because of the mixed reviews. I already have the Versace flankers, Aventus and Aventus Absolu...
Thought it was worth having
I have eros flame, CDNIM and Supremacy NOI. Do I need this?
Need is too strong to say lol, but it's a completely different vibe from the rest of the Eros line. The lemon profile is closer to Dior Cologne (sweet but not overly so) than Aventus. Supremacy NOI is strong on the base, on this the star is the opening... it is much more citrusy than oakmoss. Personally, I love it! Definitely worth it at this price point!
Perfumes are also a product that people scour reviews about - so having a negative opinion on its smell are pretty important, too. I don't want to blind buy if the reviews are too mixed. But if they're all great? I'm in.
You wear perfume for others. If a bunch of people think this smells like lemon pledge that seems like a good enough reason to avoid it. Others are going to think you smell like house cleaner.

Dior Homme Intense 2011 is a top rated perfume on Fragrantica (for many years). Nothing but praise.
I got a sample sprayer. F-ng hate it, one of the very worst smelling frags I ever had. Diarrhea smells better to me. And yet... #1, best ever, "safe blind buy" etc etc.
Reviews guarantee absolutely nothing whether you will like it or not.
I'm not sure if I'm going to blind buy this, but you would have to be crazy to buy it from Amazon and risk getting a fake when you can get it at Costco for the same price.

I realize this deal is dead but still feel compelled to post because i bought after seeing this post/review. the writeup is so well done and will likely power sales of this perfume for years to come. that said i received my order. packaging and bottle are superb. very nice sprayer too. it's been about 40 mins since i sprayed it on and i think it has settled into its final state. the only good news is i smell almost identical to how i would naturally after a intense workout...so i might be able to get away with going to the gym. if this resembles aventus (which i have no first hand experience with) that's another perfume i don't have to bother ever getting.
this is not a rip on this deal, appreciate the post/thread, price really is good and costco buys are generally safe. just my opinion on the fragrance. that said i will try it a couple more times before deciding whether to keep or not.
edit: it's grown on me and i've done a 180. it won't be going back
